Here you will find chronicled, mostly in order, the many appearances of Captain James Tiberius Kirk shirtless throughout the Star Trek series.

Season 2, Episode 12: The Deadly Years - Kirk is gaining age very quickly, starts losing his mental and physical faculties, is struck with arthritis, loses his thick stunning hairline, and forgets to put on his shirt…misplaces his shirt…what is a shirt? Hey! How did we get in space?! Eh? No, no, I’m looking for the Country Buffet. Damn kids.

Season 2, Episode 1: Amok Time - Spock needs to get his hands on some poontang or he’ll die! What’s this? His poontang rejects him, so he has to fight for her! Who does he have to fight? Well, I should think that was obvious. Kirk gets his shirt split open because Spock is very adept with his staff. Giggity.

Season 1, Episode 26: Errand of Mercy - There was no naked chest on the most recent set of episodes I watched (so very sad) but I’m having fun anyway. This episode marks the first appearance of the Klingons, and their shoe polish make-up job. Worf later humorously comments on the difference between commonly known Klingons vs. TOS Klingons during an episode of Deep Space Nine.

Season 1, Episode 20: Court Martial - Kirk is accused of killing a crew member out of spite during an ion storm, ends up being put to trial for the crime with an ex-lover as the prosecution and later loses his shirt trying to save the ship from losing its orbit. Busy day!

Season 1, Episode 18: Arena - Surprisingly, Kirk does not lose his shirt in this battle with the Gorn captain, but I had to reference it as it is one of the most famous - if not THE most famous - episode of original Star Trek. This particular scene has been reproduced by many, and an episode of Mythbusters was dedicated to the canon that Kirk builds in order to win the conflict.
